The Colombia Single Origin earned its place as our permanent Single Origin for one reason: Our customers kept asking for it. This exceptional Single Origin is very versatile and it will be great whatever way you decide to brew it.

Grown at the Flor a Fruto Estate on the fertile slopes of La Esperanza Farm in Caldas, this coffee reflects both the region’s ideal growing conditions and the dedication of the Hoyos family, who have cultivated coffee here for three generations.

Roasted to highlight its natural character, the cup has a creamy body with notes of caramel, floral honey, brown sugar, and yellow nectarine, finishing smooth with a lingering sweetness. With an SCA score of 85, it delivers the clarity and balance expected from specialty Colombian coffee.

Specialty coffee beans have an SCA score of 80 points or above on a 100-point scale.

The SCA scoring focuses on quality and flavour, but also considers other factors involved in producing the coffee beans, such as sustainability practices and ethical sourcing.

With regular coffee, not only can it be made from lower quality beans, there is no guarantee that attention has been paid to the preservation of the environment or the well-being of workers.

All of the beans we use are rated 80 and above, ensuring that you are receiving the highest quality coffee roasted in the heart of the Maleny Hinterlands.
